70 Ranch Raw Water Reservoir: A Geosynthetic Liner System for a Difficult Site
EPI provided the largest prefabricated scrim-reinforced polypropylene (fPP-R) geomembrane for a water reservoir in North America that was recently completed in Colorado. The Ranch Reservoir, located near Kersey and the South Platte River, is one of the most nostable synthetically lined raw water reservoirs in the state. Over three million cubic yards of dirt were removed during the process. Fabrication was completed by EPI in January of 2018, with full project completion in 2019. The reservoir allows for storage of water for distribution to agricultural, industrial and municipal uses.

170+ acres (5,500 acre feet of water, or 1.8 billion gallons)

- 125 panels at 30 custom sizes, with a total fabricated square foot of 2,010,528

- 177 panels, all at the same size, with a total fabricated square foot of 5,522,400

- Variable porosity and quality of bedrock
- Limited site soils that could hold water
- Site weather (high winds & rain, high surface temperatures)
- Irregular shape
